The Federal Government has constituted and inaugurated a new Governing Council for the Polytechnic. The Chairman of the new Council is Chief Michael Olanrewayu Oloyo. Chief Oloyo, a veteran politician, was a member of the then Bendel State House of Assembly in the Second Republic. The Polytechnic won a total of twenty-eight (28) medals to place 16th at the 19th edition of the Nigerian Polytechnic Games hosted by the Federal Polytechnic, Nassarawa. Fifty four institutions participated in the games. The Polytechnic won four gold, four silver and three bronze medals in taekwondo.
