School of Administration, Business & Management Studies (SABS)

The School of Business Studies was recently unbundled and renamed as the School of Administration, Business & Management Studies (SABS). It is one of the oldest schools in Auchi Polytechnic since  1974.

School of Agricultural Technology (SATE)

The School of Agricultural Technology (SATE) was established with two Departments in HND levels to  address some of the world’s most critical challenges in order to create and sustain an abundant agricultural produce, a healthy business environment with successful families and agro-allied communities.

School of Applied Sciences & Technology (SAST)

The School is to train students to be able to meet the ever-growing needs of Laboratories in Educational Establishments, Industries and Research Institutes in their areas of specialisations. The school also undertakes consultancy services in the area of Agriculture, Hospitality Management, Food Nutrition, Ceramics, Biological and Physical Laboratory Science Technology. It was founded in 1995.

School of Art & Industrial Design (SAID)

The School of Art and Industrial Design started as a Department under School of Business Studies of the Auchi Polytechnic, then in Benin Campus in 1974. In 1976 it was upgraded to a full fledged School and moved to Auchi in 1977 with three major Departments comprising of six units, namely; Painting and General Art, Graphics and Textiles, Sculpture and Ceramics Departments.

School of Engineering Technology (SENG)

The School of Business Studies is one of the oldest schools in Auchi Polytechnic.

School of Environmental Studies (SENV)

The school runs National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes. A Post-HND program is offered in the Department of Urban & Regional Planning leading to the award of a Professional Diploma (PD). In July, 2018 the School of Environmental Studies was relocated from Area I to Area III of the Campus. This was due to the need for expansion of its facilities to accommodate the increasing number of Staff and Students in recent time.

School of Information & Communication Technology (SICT)

The School of Information and Communication Technology was established in October 2010. Interestingly, the department of Mass Communication and office Technology and Management were carved out from the School of Business Studies while the Department of Statistics and Computer Science were carved out from School of Applied Science.

 

School of General Studies (SGS)

General Studies school services other departments in the areas of Mathematics, Basic Science, Languages, Citizenship Education, Research Methods, Law, Economics, Sociology, Philosophy, Physical & Health Education, Geography etc. The school’s journal is the Journal for arts, management, sciences and technology (JAMST).

 

 

 

School of Evening Studies (SES)

The School of Evening Studies was founded in 1988 with the initial name of Centre for Continuing Education (CCE). It took off with the Department of Secretarial Studies for the award of Confidential Secretary, Grade III Certificate. In the 2005/2006 academic session, it assumed the name School of Part-time Studies (SPATS) before its current name of School of Evening Studies (SES) came into being in the 2006/2007 academic session.
