About UNESCO<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"\"The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization<\/strong><\/span> (UNESCO) was established in 1945. It is one of the United Nations\u2019 specialized organizations whose principal mission is to advance world peace via global cooperation in science, culture, and education. The need for such an organization was expressed in the Moscow Declaration of 1943; China, USSR, USA, and UK were a part of this Declaration. UNESCO\u2019s Constitution entered into force in 1946. As of April 2020, it has 194 Members and 11 Associate Members. At UNESCO\u2019s General Conference, at its 41st session, elected Ms. Audrey Azoulay to a second term as Director-General. UNESCO funds numerous programmes in teaching education, science, media and press freedom promotion, translation of world literature, and human rights.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

UNESCO is a Specialised Agency of the United Nations (UN).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Auchi Polytechnic UNESCO – UNEVOC Centre acts as part of UNESCO – UNEVOC International Centre mandated to promote peace, justice, equity, poverty alleviation, and greater social cohesion. The Centre helps to develop policies and practices concerning education for the world of work and skills development for employability and citizenship, to achieve:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
