NELFUND, an initiative of the Federal Government, caters for tuition fees and monthly upkeep allowances for successful applicants in public higher educational institutions in Nigeria. Beneficiaries will refund the interest-free loan after their National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s step-by-step guide on how to apply for the loan for 2024\/2025 academic session below:<\/p>\n

  1. Visit the official NELFUND website Navigate to www.nelf.gov.ng.<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Initiate the application process Click on the \u201cApply Now\u201d button prominently displayed on the homepage.<\/li>\n
  3. Begin registration Select \u201cGet Started\u201d to commence your application.<\/li>\n
  4. Confirm eligibility Respond to the preliminary questions to verify your eligibility. Confirm your nationality by selecting \u201cYes, I am a Nigerian.\u201d<\/li>\n
  5. Verify educational information Choose your institution from the provided dropdown menu. Enter your matriculation number to check if your institution has submitted your details.<\/li>\n
  6. Authenticate with JAMB Click on \u201cVerify with JAMB\u201d and input your JAMB details as prompted. If your National Identification Number (NIN) isn\u2019t registered with JAMB, provide your NIN for validation.<\/li>\n
  7. Create your account Input your email address and set a secure password. Confirm your password and click \u201cCreate Account.\u201d<\/li>\n
  8. Verify your email Check your email for a verification link from NELFUND. Click the link to activate your account.<\/li>\n
  9. Log in to your account Return to the NELFUND portal and click \u201cLOGIN.\u201d Enter your registered email and password to access your account.<\/li>\n
  10. Update contact details Provide your current phone number, full residential address, state, and local government area of residence. Click \u201cProceed to Educational Details.\u201d<\/li>\n
  11. Update educational details Select your higher institution from the list. Enter your matriculation number accurately. Click \u201cProceed to Account Details.\u201d<\/li>\n
  12. Provide bank details Enter your Bank Verification Number (BVN). Select your bank from the dropdown menu and input your account number. Click \u201cSave Changes\u201d to complete your profile.<\/li>\n
  13. Apply for the student loan Click on the \u201cRequest for Student Loan\u201d button located at the top right corner after logging in.<\/li>\n
  14. Specify loan requirements If you require funds for personal upkeep, select the corresponding checkbox. If only institutional charges are needed, proceed without selecting the upkeep option. Click \u201cContinue\u201d to proceed.<\/li>\n
  15. Upload supporting documents Upload a scanned copy of your admission letter (mandatory). Optionally, upload your student ID and institution\u2019s invoice. Acknowledge the policy and declaration by checking the appropriate box. Click \u201cContinue.\u201d<\/li>\n
  16. Review and submit an application Carefully read through the loan overview. Agree to the Terms & Conditions and the Global Standing Instruction (GSI) Mandate by checking the respective boxes. Click \u201cSubmit Application\u201d to finalise the process.<\/li>\n
  17. Monitor application status After submission, click on the \u201cLoans\u201d section to view the current status of your application. You will be notified if your application is successful.
