Auchipoly Declares the NBTE/NIPOSSGA 2025 Open

Auchi Polytechnic has formally declared open, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) 2025 Nigeria Polytechnic Senior Staff Games (NIPOSSGA), proudly hosted by the institution. The opening ceremony marked a significant moment of unity, excellence, and sportsmanship within Nigeria’s polytechnic community.

The event was declared open by the Rector Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar who expressed profound appreciation to the Governing Council, led by Prof. Jonathan M. Ayuba, for its steadfast support toward the successful hosting of the Games. He also acknowledged the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Prof. Idris Muhammed Bugaje, who ably represented by Shetimma Lawan Buba whose participation underscored the national significance of the tournament.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the lighting of the Games Torch by the Special Guest of Honour, Apostle Johnson Suleiman. His symbolic act set an inspiring tone for the competitions, reflecting the spirit of unity and determination that defines NIPOSSGA.

The Rector extended warm appreciation to the Rectors of polytechnics across Nigeria, esteemed guests, and friends of Auchi Polytechnic who graced the epoch-making event. He commended the athletic contingents for their majestic march-past, noting that their passion and preparedness embody the true heartbeat of the Games.

The ceremony also celebrated an early victory for the host institution, as the Auchi Polytechnic football team defeated the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, 3–0 in the opening match—an achievement described as a brilliant pace-setter for the days ahead.

In his goodwill message, the Rector wished all participating athletes a fulfilling, memorable, and inspiring NIPOSSGA 2025 experience at Auchi Polytechnic.
