Auchi Polytechnic Celebrates NIPOGA Athletes, Announces Special Incentives
The Management of Auchi Polytechnic, led by the Rector, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar, have hosted a grand reception for the institution’s contingent to the 2025 National Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA), celebrating their remarkable performance leap from 43rd to 15th position among over 50 participating polytechnics.
The Rector whilst appreciating the team’s effort promised some incentives to encourage the participants. He promised free hostel accommodation for all contingent members and automatic HND admission for ND2 participants after Industrial Training. Dr. Umar personally decorated the athletes with commemorative medals during the colourful event held at the Polytechnic campus in the presence of management staff.
The contingent achieved its best ranking in recent history at the Offa hosted games, with the Head Coach, Mrs. Grace Elogie, noting: “This 28-position leap demonstrates our growing sports excellence. The Rector’s support gave us the springboard for this accomplishment.” Responding, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar stated: “Your dedication has brought glory to our institution.
Management remains committed to providing all necessary support to nurture sporting talents alongside academic excellence.” This achievement aligns with the Polytechnic’s Holistic education philosophy, Talent development initiatives and Institutional prestige enhancement being that the citadel of higher and technical education is a leading institution renowned for blending academic rigour with extracurricular excellence.
