The Federal Government has constituted and inaugurated a new Governing Council for the Polytechnic. The Chairman of the new Council is Chief Michael Olanrewayu Oloyo. Chief Oloyo, a veteran politician, was a member of the then Bendel State House of Assembly in the Second Republic. Other members of the Council are: Dr. Momodu Sanusi Jimah, Acting Rector of the Polytechnic; Dr. Suleiiman Y. B. Kura; Prince Engr. M. B. Momoh; Engr. The commencement of First Semester Examinations for the 2016/2017 Academic session.
The Polytechnic won a total of twenty-eight (28) medals to place 16th at the 19th edition of the Nigerian Polytechnic Games hosted by the Federal Polytechnic, Nassarawa. Fifty four institutions participated in the games. The Polytechnic won four gold, four silver and three bronze medals in taekwondo. In judo, the Poly won two bronze medals while it won one silver and two bronze medals in athletics. Twelve bronze medals came the way of the Polytechnic in handball. The Ag.
